Choctaw's a two-plumbing-system town
Choctaw is one of the more unusual cities in our service area because a significant portion of homes are still on well water and septic systems rather than city utilities. This isn't unusual for the rural eastern edges of the metro — Choctaw's population grew rapidly over the past 30 years but the utility infrastructure hasn't reached every property.
The practical result: when someone calls us in Choctaw, the first question is often "are you on city water or well?" That determines a lot about what services you might need.
Homes on city water and sewer
Most newer Choctaw subdivisions and the older core of the city are on Choctaw Utility Authority water and sewer. Plumbing issues on city-served Choctaw properties are similar to what we see across the OKC metro:

Choctaw city water is drawn from wells operated by the utility authority and is relatively hard (typically 10-14 grains per gallon). This is on the harder end of what we see in the metro. Effects on your home:

Well water
